I just quit neopets, and I feel great! I had to figure out how to quit, I
have tried going cold turkey, but it's just too tempting when you still have
an account with items and neopoints! I also considered doing something to
get my account frozen, but I didn't want to have the lame neopets staff do
what I should do myself. I needed some real closure, here's my surefire way
to quit neopets for good:
1) remove any bookmarks that are for neopets or neopets related things
2) get rid of all your neopoints, you can do this by donating them all to the money tree, but you can only but in 1000np at a time. My way: go to the auctions and find a fairly expensive item, then bid a ridiculously high amount for it, you can do this with multiple items if you want. Be sure to save some nps
3)get rid of all your stuff, including the items you won from the auction
(step 2), your SDB, your gallery, and put it into your shop for 1 np, or
just give it all to the money tree. If you chose to put it into your shop,
once everything is gone, take the money from you shop till and give it to
the money tree.
4) get rid of your neopets, you can leave them at the pound. This
costs 250 nps per pet, so don't forget to save enough to put all of them in
the pound. You can only put one pet in the pound per day.
5) change your password to some really random combo that you could
never remember, like fads897r839wq34kt, and when they ask you to confirm the
password, just copy paste. Now you are completely locked off from neopets
6) repeat steps 2-5 2 with any of your side accounts
I like this method because it gives me real closure, even though I got a ton
of neomails thanking me for the 1np codestone or whatever that they got from
my shop, and asking if I had more. I responded to all of them, explaining
that I was quitting neopets, why I was doing it, and why they should too.
But after that, I was done with neopets!
