Heaps Lost. Nothing Gained.

My story is as desperate and shocking as imaginable.
It all started a year ago when my best friend introduced me to neopets. Back then, I was an A+ student, and I was excelling socially, academically and physically. Life was great, nothing bad happened much. Until I was introduced to neopets.
I signed up on a fine tuesday afternoon and quickly got the hang of it. I first started playing neopets for 10mins a day, 3 days a week. I earned very little np, and I decided to play the message boards. Big Mistake. I got bombarded with "get rich quick" schemes and people telling me what to do to get rich, so I played each and everyday, my amount of np steadily increasing.
I saw millionaires, how I pined to become one. I then played for 2hrs a day, seven days a week. I bookmarked heaps of help sites and game links. I was making 26K a day. But I wanted millions!
I opened another 5 accounts. My daily amount of time on neopets increased to 4hrs before school and 6hrs after school, seven days a week. In that time period from the day I started, 3 months, I gained 6kgs. I was making 125K a day, and I was in the millions. I increased my amount of accounts to 10 and dropped out of school. I was spending every moment I had awake on neopets. The end result? After 8 months of playing, I had dropped out of school, lost quite a few real friends, gained nearly 23kgs. My life had a bleak future. I had about 30million nps. But still I wanted more! I got so obsessed that I was likely to go bankrupt if I got into the real job, so I stayed at home. 12hrs a day, 7days a week, playing neopets. That's about a horrifying 330hrs a month on a virtual website earning fake money.
Well anyway, it got to the stage where I hadn't been outside for weeks, I turned from a fit person to a fat
lazy slug.
Then it happened.
I got frozen. 40million neopoints down the drain. I was shocked.
I emailed the Frozen Account Team and they told me why I was frozen. They said I was frozen for spending way to much time on neopets; they told me I was frozen for something I know I didn't do. So then I spent weeks on the computer, refreshing the screen waiting for a reply.
In the meantime, I looked on the internet of sites about neopets. I discovered a similar site to this one and then I truly realized how bad I was. Since that day, I have never visited the neopets site, and all emails from neopets I have thrown into the email bin. I went back to school and slowly got fitter again.
Neopets nearly ruined my life. Its a scary thought, imagine a few bytes on a
hard drive ruining a life? scary hey?
Now I have lost quite a few kg's and made back the friends I lost. I am slowly improving academically, but my life will never be as great as it was before I
discovered neopets. To this day, I regret signing up for the first place.
