I was TNT's "neopet" at one time

Hello, my name is Michael, I was addicted to neopets at one time. I was one of TNT's minions.
It all started off when at school we had a new computer teacher, she set up our school's site, and neopets was in one of the links along with other games. One
day I went to it and I signed up for an account. The next few days I would browse around the site, but I was only 11. I had my parents sign the parental
consent form (I was stupid). I had dial up at the time so I was limited. Then big stuff came up for our family and we had to get comcast (which was AT&T at
the time). I looked at other users account when I was a noob. Then I found the stock chat and battle chat. Some people became my friends in the stock chat. I
figured out how to make neopoints.
A kid got me into RSing which wasn't hard at the time. I would rs for an hour and make about 100k. Then I got into battling. I became addicted. Stuff for
battling cost so much I would rs for hours at a day.
I got what I wanted. I had a nice battle set, but then one day I was frozen for no reason. I became angry then spammed the boards and got another account
frozen.
Then I learned computer coding because of neo, and I became interested in hacking. I cracked a stock chat reg's account. It was stupid, because I was
hacking for fake crap.
Then I became more addicted. Restocks were bad, battling cost more, a war was coming up.
I began to gain weight. I was stressed out, eating at the computer, had my head up against the screen, and sat so much I got fat. I got fatter and fatter until
I was about 180 lbs. My grades started dropping, I missed being with IRL friends, I was called names for being fat, and I was stupid. Then I was frozen
again which angered me. Ads started popping up on my screen. I tried to quit but
I couldn't. I even got myself IP traced to get iced but I couldn't stop playing.
ad0, the guy who hacked neopets, hacked my account on the night that I was going
to see a tribute band. I was depressed so badly. It was an awesome show but I fell asleep for 3/4's of the show, and it was an awesome show. I now can't
believe I missed it. My family listened to their CDs so much it led me to explore music. I found Pink Floyd, Eagles, Metallica, AC/DC, Beatles, Van
Halen, Led Zeppelin, and so many other bands to listen to. We went to see the same band
again and I was so amazed I began to play guitar. I became less and less addicted to neopets but I never had anything to do so I came on neopets.
I finally started going outside and going to a gym that I became muscular and lost loads of weight and grew up instead of growing out. I found a girlfriend
but I kept playing neo.
Then one day I got fed up because cookie grabbers were all over the site. I quit. I logged out for a week, then logged back in to give my stuff away and
didn't touch neo once.
Wanna try something to quit neo? Think of all the people in life you've ignored,
all the things you could have done, all the things you should have done. Thats it. Wanna do it again? If the
answer is no just log out of your account.
