I would never want to earn a living through a game like neopets

I'm as much of a capitalist as anyone.  I believe in free enterprise and love money.  But I would never want to make money creating or running a site like Neopets.  What is it really?  It's an addictive fake, fantasy world that addicts children.  The most vulnerable people in our society.  They get addicted to this website, and it keeps them from socializing with others, and keeps them from studying and doing homework.

I have no sympathy for adults like myself who were addicted.  (I'm 22).  But to sell advertisement space on a website who's target market is children . . . and the way to make more money is to get them to see more ads, in other words, keep them hooked and playing as many hours a day as possible.  The whole goal is to addict children . . . to me, that's ruthless.  Is this game helping anyone?  I don't think so . . . it's just making them more cynical towards others and causing stress, in addition to causing them to ignore their studies.  Again, adults who are addicted, that's your fault . . . but children?  They are much easier victims cause they haven't developed as much.

To the CEO and creators of Neopets, you can keep your millions of dollars.  I love money, have a job, and invest my money in stocks.  What I won't do, is push a product onto children, get them addicted in a fantasy land, just to make a few bucks.
