Starting off, I am honestly appalled at the state of the Help Chat. What was once my refuge from the pressures of restocking and auctions, my place for fun, has now become this dreaded state of "help".
Ever since some of the neopets staff monitors have decided to go on a campaign against people posting 'off-topic' boards, they have been warning people because they simply posted boards that did not require anyone helping them in something.
Yes, the help board was meant for people to go there asking for help. We still help, its just that we chat there at the same time. Is that not the purpose of the meaning, "Help Chat"? A place to help and chat at the same time? Apparently now the monitors have decided that this should be a place for only people who need help to post.

One of the important points for the monitors to note is that without people chatting, most people wont go to boards just to help others. Some will, but most wont. Why should they spend their time catering to n00bs and newbies who sometimes don't even understand what they say because they haven't gone exploring in Neopia yet? Face it, some newbies are just plain dumb, and the frustration of making them understand usually takes the fun out of helping someone.
Would people stick around on the chatboards if they cant chat and the only thing they CAN do is help others, which would probably get a TAD boring week after week. (note the sarcasm) We formed a community in all these years of the help chat board being available, yet the monitors suddenly decide they want to disband everything, making a board where only people who want help go. Starting on a warning rampage just to get what THEY want and not caring about how the rest of the chatters feel about it, this is the mark of a poor risk taken. There are only so many warnings a person can take, and the old HCers are leaving because they don't want to risk their accounts getting frozen. The monitors take advantage of that fact and start warning people to get what they want, slowly but surely molding a batch of new HCers who bow to them and report anyone they deem as posting off topic boards straight to the monitors to be severely dealt with. They also spam the boards with "you're posting an off-topic board!" and are deemed as heroic by the monitors.
I am seeing increasing amounts of people who spend around 16 hours on Neopets leave suddenly because they cant endure the stupidity of the Neopets Staff any longer. You think its good, all these funny schemes you come up with, and you dont change whatever you implement. Humans make mistakes, and some admit them. You too make mistakes, and you hardly ever admit them. Just because you get rave reviews from some of the Neopians you meet, it doesnt mean that everyone is like them.
True, you cant please everyone, but cant you see that the majority harbors some grudge against the team? Cant you feel the growing unease around you? I can. And one of the latest glitches is a prime example of when the team makes a mistake and takes a long time to admit it, after countless of mails being sent, I might add. Millions were lost by Neopians and given randomly to people who didn't deserve it, yet you reply with, "Oops! well, we cant refund you items or neopoints lost in glitches." HOW DO YOU THINK THAT MAKES THOSE PEOPLE WHO LOST THE ITEMS FEEL? SATISFIED?
Neopets. You have grown successful, but never ever forget where your success grew from and if the people who made you what you are now aren't happy, and Neopets loses its appeal to them, you'll be left with nothing. No sponsor will sponsor you when they see what you have become, a greedy money making website that doesn't hear out its users complaints or take any action.
Note: See how many users you have there on the "World" page? Half of them are extra accounts, 1/4 of them are people who come on once in a month, and the rest are people who you froze without a second thought.
