Scams involving people skills

There are a lot of ways people trick you, by just what they write in neomail or on online chat boards. It's really amazing, and here's a few of how they do it:
They seem female. Just cause their user lookup says female, generally it's not. It's a guy, cause females seem more trusting.
Also, they have a lot of Christian stuff. Christian people are naturally trusting, so if you identify with a Christian, generally you are more likely to believe them and give a password or items with only a "promise" of something back.
They may also appear young and who wouldn't trust a kid? They say their trading post won't work, or their parents won't let them use it, so send an item first, and they "promise" to send something back. It's probably a 21 year old college guy having fun.
Also, scammers come out on weekends cause in neopets, there's less monitors on the weekend. Since they are staffed with real people, they take a break on weekends like most people with jobs.
A lot of times, people will try to empathize. Saying yeah they have been scammed before, so they want you to send an item cause they don't trust the trading post. Like they lost an item there. They may have, but probably not. No trade is that good or important if you have to send an item first. This is the funniest scam I ever heard of here:

One scam that is trippy is people actually befriending someone, and then ripping them off.
I'm serious, this is the most evil, but most profitable scam. To chat with someone on AIM or MSN for a few days, even weeks. Then after trust is established, then they ask for your password or to "borrow" points or items, or stuff like that. Then suddenly they blocked you from neomail, from chat, and your stuff is gone. Either that or they will say they were "hacked" or a "glitch" erased the items or something like that. Then you just got scammed big time.
Remember, true friends don't need and don't want your password. True friends are happy being friends . . . and if your friendship is based on you giving them neopoints or neo-items, they aren't much of a friend.
