Tips from the Auction Sniper no_one_iz_truly_pure
Self explanatory. These are un-edited tips I got from pwure (no_one_iz_truly_pure). Enjoy:
Well, I decided to write a piece of my own on how I do my auctioning :/ Crappy really. Anyway, here goes:
If you’ve read David’s pages already about all sorts of methods and don’t understand one bit, here’s an easier way to winning auctions. The chances of winning are also slimmer though, but after doing it for so long and competing with so many snipers, I would say my method and theirs really doesn’t make much of a difference. Your choice if you want to continue reading.
Basically, my whole auctioning method is just finding an item that you like, and bidding on it. And winning. All in one window. The problem with me is that I don’t like being rushed and I don’t like bidding in two or more windows, it just messes me up. So, what I do to win an auction is just simply bidding 5 seconds beforehand (slow internet for me) with a number that I guess is higher than the final number put in by another user. Its not even a method, its more like a guessing game. One window, once chance for your guess. Not good odds. Still works for me though :/.
I think its all up to luck whether you win or not using
this method, but there are some ways to up the odds. Mainly, see how fast the
bids are going and how many people are bidding on that particular item, then
guess how much more np you want to add to those numbers in the tiny little Amount
(in Neopoints) box. If
there’s a few people bidding only on the item, just bid about 2k more (max
increment). If there’s quite a number of people bidding suddenly when the
auction is about to end, bid around 4k-7k more. And if you see the item has a
long, long, long list of usernames, prepare to bid around 10k more if its moving
very fast.
It doesn’t always
work, sometimes the newbies you expect to jack up the price aren’t there, then
even if you bid 7k more it cant go through because no one bid high enough for
your bid to be there. There’s always the maximum 2k higher bid only to watch
out for, and if you’re unlucky, it doesn’t go your way.
Estimation and
prediction are also good. If you can do them well, half the battle is already
won. The ability to predict and estimate the final bid is like tuning in to the
brainwaves of the other players. X.x. Very hard to do. (Ignore this paragraph,
Im getting nonsensical)
The word ‘luck’
is always present in all methods. This method though, relies almost all on luck.
It’s the most important factor here. For mine, only once chance is available.
So, if your luck isn’t good enough for you to estimate the final amount, I
suggest you stick to David’s complicated methods. :P.
