Introduction
Hello there. Welcome, to the Advanced Guide to Making Money in Neoland. Ok, I'm done with being nice here. If you don't understand English well, or if you're too young, and/or too stupid to understand some of the concepts I bring up here, you are probably too young and/or too stupid to execute them. In my experience of trying to help people, you have to be at least 18, preferably in your 20s to "get it". You may think neopets is a kid's game, and some parts are, but it's the 20+ year olds that rule neoland.
This is an ADVANCED guide. If this is too hard for you, visit those thousands of other websites that tell you to make money by playing games and "getting the free stuff". You understand? This is an ADVANCED guide. If you're not smart enough to understand the methods, you are probably not smart enough to do them.
I will cover some of the methods of how people get rich fast, or how rich people get a lot richer. If you want to know where the hidden tower is, some battledome tips, what times the snowager sleeps, or crossword puzzle answers, go away. Leave. This site is not for you. If you want to know those things, go to those PATHETIC LOSER SITES that tell you how to save money by "collecting bank interest" and "getting free omelettes to feed your pet".
Don't get me wrong. When I first started, I didn't know what I was doing, so I played games, like all other newbies. Starting out, you have to play games. There is no other way to make money, unless a friend gives you money. Personally, I think it's better to learn on your own than to have a friend start you off with a lot of cash, . . . so you can make mistakes while you're poor, rather than starting with a million points and screwing up.
If you start out poor like me, play games, then after maybe 50k, you should cut back on your games and start doing other things. After 100k-200k, you should stop playing games all together (except maybe the chance games if that's your thing).
Let me introduce myself. My name is David Ninomiya (theseus51 on neopets). When I made this page in mid 2003, I was a 22/m/Hawaii. I played neopets for a month in 2002, then quit because I was in college and it was too time consuming. In that one month, I made about 600k (on dialup, mostly trading neggs, motes and playing the stock market when you could buy at 6).
I started playing again out of boredom in like Feb 2003, made a million in a month, this time trading mostly paint brushes, scratchcards, and motes. I tried quitting by giving away most of my stuff. I didn't quit though, cause the site was still fun, so last month (mid April- mid May 2003) I figure I made about 4 million points in one month, starting from only 100k (from what I didn't give away the 2nd time I quit), but spending about 5-7 hours a day playing.
I can normally make a bit over 5 million a month, but it takes a few hours a day playing though. I decided to quit for good, but this is what remains of my neopoint making guide from mid 2003. Keep in mind, many of the references are out of date, but yet still applicable, maybe not in value like when I say the lab map pieces are 24k or my friend says baby paint brushes are 470k, but for the theory behind the numbers, it's all good.
I was good in neopets, but I quit. My reasons are in the last "Screw You Neopets" section at the bottom, if you want to know why.
