Images on or off?
To turn your images off in internet explorer, go to Tools, then Internet Options, then click on the Advanced tab, then scroll down to the Multimedia section, and uncheck the "Show pictures" box. This is mostly for people who's internet speed is slow, computer slow (to process pictures), or times when the servers in neoland are really, really laggy.
There's times when you want images, times you don't. By default, I leave them on all the time. Even if you have a fast internet speed, having images load does take away a few seconds here, and a few seconds there, and that time adds up. I leave my images on because I mostly do things that need images. Auctions and trades. When searching the 21-40 auctions that are about to end, I need to see the pictures cause it's faster than reading. Plus, certain map pieces are worth more than others. Also for trading, I can scroll faster by looking at the pictures than reading.
For chat, you can turn it off too . . . unless you love those smileys. When you check someone's trade, you can simply right click on the picture and go to "Show Picture" to see the picture anyway.
When doing shop scans, like searching over and over for paint brushes, codestones, scratchcards (things where they all look the same per name), sure, turn off the images. (You might even want to turn off sound and videos since a lot of people have those annoying things in their shop).
If you search for map pieces, you might want to keep them on since for the same name "Piece of a Treasure Map" or "Secret Laboratory Map", they have multiple pieces. Anything else though, for searching shops, yeah, turn it off if you want to save time.
Restocking, same thing. If you can read faster than it would take for the pictures to load, then turn off the images.
I mean this is mostly for people who's computer processor is slow or speed is sub-par. If you love images (as do I), leave them on.
