How to Win Chat Contests

Now once in a while, you'll see chat contests.  This is if you spend time in chat rooms, which you shouldn't be doing cause it rarely makes you money.  If you do see one, and the prize looks decent, you might want to enter it (if the prize is about 25,000 or more).  I have entered into some, and have won a few thousand, so I'm not going to insult these contests.  The stupid ones like the ones for items 5,000 or less, don't even bother.  It's a waste of your time.

These contests are put on by people who are too rich, too kind, or too bored, and entered by people who are too greedy, or too bored.  I'm in the greedy section.

Anyway, there's two main types of contests.  The guess and win, where you have to guess someone's favorite _____, or the "FTP" (First to Post) types.  It totally varies, and mostly it's a crapshoot if you win, but there are ways to improve your chances.

Guess and Win

When doing this, type in your guesses, but always watch for responses from the person putting on the contest.  Frequently they'll give tips, and most times people are too busy guessing to notice these tips.  The person running the contest might post that it starts with the letter "R", but people keep guessing things that don't start with the letter "R" cause they are too busy posting.

Do a ctrl F to find their username if you have to, to see if they posted anything.  It's also good cause they will announce the winner too, so you don't want to waste time with more guesses if they already announced a winner.

First to Post

These are pretty much a crap shoot.  I mean you just have to be the one who posts first.  If they are running a series of these, like more than one, refresh fast, and keep your mouse right over the spot of the newest post on a board.  If they want you to say a specific thing, have it copied into your clipboard already, like copy (ctrl C) whatever you have to say, so when the FTP comes up, you can click on it and past (ctrl V) in the answer and improve your chances of winning.
