Banking

To "bank" means to put your money in the bank, so you don't win an auction.  They will only take money from the money you have "out".  They won't take money from your bank if you won the auction.  This is the basis of the 3 Way/2Way Auction Scam (Inflators)

If you overbid on an item, you could do this.  However, if it was minor, like you paid 1k more than the market value, and especially if you won other good deals, don't bank.  Otherwise, you have to wait for the auction to clear before you can do anything.

Without money (or a lot of money), you can't scan shops.  You can't make other bids at auction, you can't offer money at the trading post.  You are basically frozen until that auction clears, and most times, unless you over paid by the tens of thousands, it's not worth it.

Also, if you have a bid out there, make sure you have enough money to cover it.  Say you won 50 auctions, make sure you have the money to cover it all.  You can have only 25k out, and bid on 1,000 items worth 20k each, and win all of those auctions.  But if you don't have the money out, you will only have enough money to win 1 of them, and the rest will go to the next highest bidder.
